MSE congratulates Nancy Senabulya, a post-doc with Assistant Professor Ashwin Shahani, for receiving an American Association of University Women (AAUW) Fellowship!

"I am so grateful to the American Association for University Women for entrusting me with this award," said Senabulya. "This fellowship will keep our groundbreaking discoveries on the solidification kinetics of icosahedral quasicrystals going forward for another year. We plan to employ a multimodal imaging workflow combining x-ray tomography and dynamic TEM to study both microstructural evolution and the transient behavior related to the nucleation of metastable and stable quasicrystals from a liquid phase."

One of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, AAUW is providing more than $3.8 million in funding for fellowships and grants to 245 outstanding women and nonprofit organizations for the 2018-19 award year. Recipients will pursue academic work and lead innovative community projects to empower women and girls.

Since 1881, AAUW has provided more than $100 million in fellowships and grants to more than 12,000 women and nonprofit organizations in the United States and around the world.
