Research on energy storage in Materials Science and Engineering is highly interdisciplinary and combines computational and experimental methods of investigation in the discovery of novel materials systems for batteries, fuel cells, and solid-state energy storage devices. Focal areas include the design, synthesis, structural characterization, and property measurement of materials for application as electrolytes, electrodes, and support structures, as well as the exploration of new materials functionality for the development of innovative devie architectures exhibiting enhanced capacities and performance characteristics.
We seek to hire an individual to carry out research and teach in a strongly collaborative environment, within MSE and across disciplines. This person should be knowledgeable about materials synthesis, micro-structural evolution, phase stability, thermodynamic compatibility, interfacial effects, transport processes, and rate phenomena. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in MSE, or a related field, and should be qualified, and willing, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the field.
