Xianfeng Ma's thesis, "High Temperature Low Cycle Fatigue Behaviors of Nickel-based Single Crystal Superalloys for Large Gas Turbine" was defended in June of 2010. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in Materials Science and Engineering at Michigan since 2010.  His research includes developing constitutive models, such as FE-based crystal plasticity model, to predict the processing-microstructure-property relationship in alpha-beta titanium alloy. Another aspect is experimental characterization of the microstructure and texture in light alloys via SEM and OIM techniques.
