My research is focused on ion channeling studies of solute incorporation in highly mismatched semiconductor alloys. Alloying semiconductors with atoms that have large size difference to the atoms of the host lattice can induce interesting electronic phenomena such as concentration dependent band gaps that deviate significantly from the rule of mixtures. I have been using Rutherford Backscatter Spectrometry (RBS) and Nuclear Reaction Analysis (NRA) channeling measurements to study the effect of various growth and processing techniques on lattice site positions of N in GaAsN and ZnTeN as well as C in GeC and GeSnC alloys.
