Thin, Conformal, High-Performance Electronics
Jeff Carbeck, MC10
MC10 is a start-up company in Cambridge, Massachusetts that is commercializing advanced materials technologies. By making existing inorganic semiconductors very thin, and packaging them in conformal, foldable and stretchy form factors, our technology enables high performance electronics to go anywhere. The basic physics and mechanics of the technology will be discussed, and specific applications will be described, including arrays of sensors deployed on the skin and inside the body, and arrays of high efficiency photovoltaic cells integrated into solar modules with new form factors. How we are building a valuable business around this platform technology will also be described.
