Strain Relaxation in Semiconductor Nanowires
There are now numerous examples of semiconductor nanowires and heterostructures grown by many different techniques. The three dimensions offer interesting new geometries for devices and unusual interfaces not seen via conventional planar investigations. This talk will describe investigations of defects and strain relaxation at semiconductor nanowire interfaces including the InAs-GaAs core-shell system. Comparisons to planar geometries and mechanisms of relaxation will be discussed.
