Rackham New Grad Student Welcome

Start off with a continental breakfast and then join us in the Rackham Auditorium for the official welcome to the University of Michigan!  The Welcome program features a keynote address from Dr. Bobbi Low, Professor, School of Natural Resources and Environment and recipient of the 2007 Rackham Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award.  Included also are welcoming remarks from Rackham Graduate School Dean Janet A. Weiss and University of Michigan Provost Teresa A. Sullivan.  Additionally, the U-M Friars will perform musical selections.

Information Fair
A highlight of the Welcome program is the Information Fair with more than 70 campus services, student organizations, and local businesses. Representatives are available to assist new graduate students in becoming familiar with student life at the University of Michigan and in the Ann Arbor and surrounding communities. This event will provide students the opportunity to gather information on key University services and activities, and talk with representatives in a relaxed and central location.

Welcome Picnic
Conclude the day at a picnic on Island Drive Park from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Hosted by Rackham Student Government (RSG) and Rackham Graduate School, the picnic provides a relaxed atmosphere where new and returning students can enjoy food, fun and games. It’s a great opportunity to meet other new graduate students, returning students and graduate school staff.
