Gabi Grey receives 2026 Towner Prize
Gabi Grey, 2nd-year Ph.D. candidate in the Taub group
MSE is delighted to announce that second-year Ph.D. candidate Gabrielle (Gabi) Grey is MSE's 2026 recipient of the Richard F. and Eleanor A. Towner Prize for Distinguished Academic Achievement. This prestigious award is presented by the College of Engineering to outstanding graduate students who exhibit exceptional research, leadership, and academic performance (GPA).
A member of the Taub group, Grey's research is centered around the implementation of metal-polymer nanocomposites as lightweight conductors targeting applications in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Currently the president of the Graduate Student Council (GSC), she also served as GSC Secretary (2024-25) and as a UROP Mentor (2023-26). Grey is also a member of the Science, Technology & Public Policy Program and serves as a Rackham Student Government Division Representative.
Grey will officially receive her award at the CoE Student Leaders & Honors Award ceremony on March 27.
