Ph.D. candidate Jinhong Min of the Li group was recently awarded the Edward G. Weston Fellowship from the Electrochemical Society (ECS) for his research "Operando Imaging of a Single LiFePO₄ Particle Using Interferometric Scattering Microscopy (iSCAT)."

Leveraging the concept of microelectrode arrays from biology, Min has developed a system for electrochemical measurements at the micrometer scale. Using these microelectrodes, he was able to extract kinetic parameters of individual micrometer-sized particles with high throughput.

Min completed a BS in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Seoul (2018) and an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University in 2021.

His research has been recognized with a 2024 Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship at U-M, and he received a Silver Graduate Student Award at the 2023 MRS fall meeting.
