Associate Professor Katsuyo Thornton has received the Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division (MPMD) Distinguished Service Award from TMS.  The award is given to "An individual whose dedication and commitment to the MPMD has made a demonstrable difference to the objectives and capabilities of the division and TMS is honored with this award."

Citation:

For her dedication and leadership in establishment of a vibrant, comprehensive, and successful TMS program in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME).

“It has been nothing but a pleasure and honor to serve in various capacities within TMS,” said Thornton. “This recognition means a great deal to me because it indicates that these efforts have been fruitful. I’m looking forward to many more years of active service in TMS.”
