Pena-Francesch receives PMSE YIP Award
The award recognizes emerging early-career leaders who have made significant contributions in their respective fields within polymer materials science and engineering.
MSE is proud to announce that Abdon Pena-Francesch has been selected to receive a 2025 PMSE Young Investigator Award from the American Chemical Society. Honorees are chosen from early-career emerging leaders who have made significant contributions in their respective fields within polymer materials science and engineering.
Pena-Francesch's Bioinspired Materials Lab is an interdisciplinary research group working on biomaterials science, polymer chemistry, soft matter physics, and nanotechnology, with focus on exploring biological and bioinspired functional materials to develop solutions for healthcare, robotics, bioengineering, and environmental applications.
His research is centered around biomaterials science, polymer chemistry, soft matter physics, and nanotechnology, with focus on exploring biology to develop advanced and programmable soft materials for robotic applications in healthcare, bioengineering, and environmental science.
As a 2025 PMSE Young Investigator Award winner, Pena-Francesch will speak at a special PMSE Early Investigator symposium as part of the ACS Fall Meeting this August in Washington, D.C.
Congratulations, Abdon!
