Robert D. Pehlke Lectureship: "Translational biomedical engineering"
Michael Cima
MIT
This talk will discuss Cima's journey from materials science and engineering to medicine through a series of technologies originating in his lab. Mostly, it’s a reflection on where these ideas came from. There are three key themes; pivot, adjacency, and theory of change. Topics will include 1) the role of materials in pharmaceutical development, 2) magnetics in diagnostics, 3) single compartment drug targeting, and 4) hydration status measurement.
