Dr. Tim Chambers, MMS advisor

MSE is pleased to announce that Tim Chambers has received the 2025 College of Engineering Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award for his support of the Michigan Materials Society (MMS). It is his third year in the MMS advisor role.

In an effort to formally and publically recognize the efforts of student organization advisors, the Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award is presented annually to honor the leadership, guidance, and support an advisor provides to student groups on campus. Only one advisor is selected annually to receive this award.

"It's no surprise to me that Tim received the Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award," said current MMS president Micah Gendich. "What many students say truly differentiates Tim is that he is not only a knowledgeable teacher and mentor, but also a friend to all. From hosting student forging events at his house to creating engaging projects in the undergrad lab, he has thoroughly demonstrated his commitment to helping students grow. I'm excited to see how his passion for teaching and mentorship continues to shape the next generation of materials scientists."

Chambers will be officially recognized at the College of Engineering Honors Brunch on March 16.

Congratulations, Tim!
