She received her B.S. and M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Xian Jiaotong University and Dalian University of Technology in China. She received her Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from University of Michigan in 2003. Sha is working on ion and electron beam induced nanostructures and ion implantation applications in the modification of materials
