| Recent efforts involve nitriding metal oxide and mixed-metal oxide nanopowders using a fluidized bed reactor (FBR) at temperatures of 600-1000 °C under NH3 flow. The nanopowders were produced by Liquid-Feed Flame Spray Pyrolysis (LF-FSP). Reaction conditions in the FBR can be varied to control the formation and composition of oxynitride phases. The nitrided materials are being investigated for applications in industrial photocatalysis in collaboration with the Schwank Group in Chemical Engineering and the Zgid Group in Chemistry. |
