Application Fee Waivers
The application fee is due when you submit your application. The fee is non-refundable and subject to change. If you pay the application fee and you are later approved to receive a fee waiver, the fee will not be refunded.
- United States citizens and those with permanent resident visa status, $75
- Non-U.S. citizens, $90
- Current Rackham student (regardless of citizenship) $10
Michigan Engineering college-issued application fee waivers are only available to applicants who intend to apply to an Engineering doctoral program and meet one or more Rackham Merit Fellowship criteria (listed below).
To be eligible, a student must:
1) Must be a domestic (US citizen) *and* meet at least one of the following criteria below:
- Come from an educational, cultural, or geographic background that is underrepresented in graduate study in their discipline in the United States or at the University of Michigan;
- Have experienced financial hardship as a result of family economic circumstances;
- Are first-generation U.S. citizens or are the first generation in their families to graduate from a four-year college.
Fee Waivers Administered by Rackham Graduate School
In certain circumstances, you may be eligible for an application fee waiver administered by Rackham.
