rdavidra@umich.edu Undergraduate Student, Materials Science and Engineering Bio: I am a current undergraduate at the University of Michigan studying Materials Science and Engineering. I am originally from Virginia Beach, VA and came to Michigan in the fall of 2024. I have had a previous research experience at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA, which focused on the effects of extended heat treatment on the mechanical properties and diffusion interfaces of diffusion bonded Ti-6Al-4V - tantalum samples. In Dr. Misra’s laboratory, I am exploring various characterization methods via digital optical microscopy, in hopes of finding a less expensive process for metallographic characterization that is just as effective as the use of electron backscatter diffraction and transmission electron microscopy.
