Non Tamperable Markings for Aniti Proliferation Technology

This is a joint project with Sandia National Laboratories where we are studying the fundamental mechanisms that result in surface ripples during ultrafast laser irradiation. Our goal is to apply these mechanisms to non temperable marking strategies for anti nuclear proliferation technologies. We plan to exploit the natural randomness of precipitate growth in base metal oxides formed by irradiation with nanosecond lasers followed by fs laser irradiation. The resulting diffraction patterns that will be etched at the interface will be next to impossible to replicate.
